DISCOVER BERLIN WITH OUR LOCAL OFFICE EMPLOYEES CAROLINE AND SANDRA

Once a stage to turbulent historical events, today Berlin is a cultural capital of Germany that attracts entrepreneurs, artists and tourists from around the world. If you have already taken the big historical attractions off your list – like Bundestag, The Brandenburg Gate, Fernsehturm, Unter den Linden or Checkpoint Charlie, it’s time to relax and explore best lifestyle attractions Berlin has to offer. We give you the list of most interesting spots you can’t miss prepared with our Renting Agents from Berlin – Caroline Stelzer and Sandra Fuchs.

Dining

If you walk around the city you may get the impression that the traditional German dish is… Döner. Your second guess will be probably Burgers that you run into on every corner. But don’t be deceived by these first impressions, Berlin is full of diverse cuisine from all corners of the world. Caroline and Sandra’s first pick is the creative Asian restaurant Transit located at Rosenthaler Strasse 68 in Berlin-Mitte. Transit serves a great variety of Thai and Indonesian tapas-style dishes. You can enjoy a meal encompassing a wide range of tastes and ingredients. Another place worth recommending is our favorite Spanish restaurant called Tres Tapas at Lychener Strasse 30 in picturesque district of Prenzlauer Berg. Narrow streets, low buildings each with its own soul and quiet green squares make this district one of a kind. At Tres Tapas you can taste all the best that Spain has to offer, from original paella, fish and meat dishes grilled on lava stone, as well as a wide selection of imported wines and homemade tapas. For those who want to try the famous Berlin Curry Wurst, we suggest going to Konnopke at Eberswalder Straße. This is definitely the most popular joint in town dishing up iconic Berlin sausage with ketchup seasoned with aromatic curry. As mentioned before, the ultimate Berlin’s classic is Döner. Try the famous vegetable street food spot – Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap at Mehringdamm 32. Get ready to wait in a line for it. Its popularity is a proof of its deliciousness. For dessert and coffee, Five Elephant in Kreuzberg is a must. This little hipster café enraptures with its charm and the cheesecake second to none.

Shopping

If you are an enthusiast of department stores, visit Galeria Kaufhof centrally located at Alexanderplatz in close vicinity of our VISIONAPARTMENTS. You will find there both local and popular international brands. The iconic shopping mall of Berlin is KaDeWe (the oldest department store in Berlin and the biggest department store in continental Europe) at Wittenbergplatz. It offers a great selection of luxury brands. After the shopping, go to the restaurant on the top floor surrounded by an all windowed wall offering great views. If you are looking for more crazy and unique clothes and accessories and local designers, you should definitely stop by at the Hackescher Markt and Neue Schönhauser Strasse area.

Chill out and Clubbing

Klunkerkranich_TripAdvisorKlunkerkranich by Tripadvisor In the evening, if you are in the mood for a drink and the weather is good, go to Klunkerkranich – an open-air bar on the rooftop of Neuköln Arkaden shopping mall. Sip a drink and enjoy the view over the whole city. Not far from our VISIONAPARTMENTS, at Karl-Marx-Allee 34, Café Moskau stands out with its 1950s-style architecture which earned it a position in the historic preservation list. Apart from the restaurant, in the building you will find The Avenue – the number one club among locals and visitors alike. There is no better place for weekend parties. It offers various kinds of music (disco, R&B, electro, house, hip-hop) and an excellent sound system, modern interior design and great atmosphere. As an interesting fact we would like to add that one of our tenants is an investor of the mentioned club. Berlin is an undisputed capital of clubbing. There is a wide selection of clubs that will suit all needs. One of the most exclusive clubs in the city is The Pearl at Fasanenstrasse 81 in Charlottenburg. You can enjoy a huge bar serving potent cocktails and a large dance floor animated by professional dancers. In the summer, check out Club der Visionaere with open-air dance floor by the arm of the Spree river, Watergate for best DJs and beautiful views from the Spree through its floor-ceiling plate glass windows, or stylish Prince Charles created in the basement of a former swimming pool –  you can still see the tiles around the bar area.
